Terms of use

Material made by WFRC Analytics is licensed under CC BY 4.0. Data from other organizations stays under its original terms.

The Wasatch Front Regional Council (WFRC) is a public agency. This site and the tools on it are published for public use. Content made by the WFRC Analytics team is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0); the legal code is the full text. You may share and adapt it, including for commercial use, as long as you follow the conditions below.

Data from other organizations is not covered by this license. It keeps its original copyright and terms.

What the license asks of you

  1. Credit WFRC and link to the source. Each tool page gives a suggested citation. For example: Wasatch Front Regional Council. (2026). Commute Patterns Map [Online tool]. https://wfrc.utah.gov/maps/regional-commuter-flows/

  2. Say if you changed the material. Describe what you changed (the data, the method, the settings or the presentation), name who made the changes, and keep any earlier notes about changes that you find. A changed version must never be presented as WFRC’s own. For example: “Based on WFRC’s Commute Patterns Map (2026). Modified by [organization]: [what changed].”

  3. Do not suggest that WFRC endorses you or your use.

These conditions apply to results from our tools and models as well as to the pages and maps themselves.

What the license does not cover

  • The WFRC name, logos and other trademarks. CC BY 4.0 does not license them. Do not use them in a way that suggests WFRC sponsors or approves your work.
  • Data from other sources. Each provider’s copyright and terms apply, and you must follow them if you reuse it. Check the provider before you republish, redistribute or build a product on it.
  • Models. They are shared by request under the release letter described in Get the model, not under CC BY 4.0. Please follow it, including not passing the model on.
  • Source code. The code for many tools is in the WFRC Analytics GitHub organization. It is not licensed by this page. Check each repository for a license file; many do not have one yet. Libraries and data used inside the code keep their own licenses and terms.
